Disturbances and Resources in Global Grasslands Network (DRAGNet)
Throughout 2021, I had the privilege of serving as the European NutNet and DRAGNet coordinator. In addition to leading and contributing to several NutNet research projects, I also coordinated the establishment of numerous DRAGNet sites in regions underrepresented in these globally distributed experiments (i.e., Eastern Europe and Mediterranean Europe). As much of my childhood was spent in my parents' home country of Poland, I was especially thrilled to set up a DRAGNet site in the Lubelszczyzna region with colleagues from the University of Life Sciences in Lublin. I look forward to serving as a PI of the Lublin DRAGNet site and to staying involved with both networks in years to come.

sFutures (Integrating Functional and Phylogenetic Underpinnings into Restoration Science

Dr. Emma Ladouceur and I are leading a sDiv working group focused on understanding how multiple facets of biodiversity emerge in restored systems. With this working group, we hope to advance understanding of how taxonomic, functional, and phylogenetic diversity shape and are shaped by restoration efforts. We believe this is crucial for upholding the promise of ecological restoration as a key solution for reestablishing biodiversity and associated ecosystem functions and services to degraded ecosystems.
Early traits working group
Sometime in 2020 a few colleagues and I could not stop chatting about seed and seedling traits. We chatted so much, that we decided to officially gather other early career ecologists and create a group to discuss and synthesize of the state of knowledge about seed and seedling traits. Since, we have been distilling the literature to understand: (1) what exactly is a seedling, (2) how do seedling traits differ from adult traits, and (3) how do seed and seedling traits inform our understanding of community assembly? Our group will host a special session focused on seed and seedling traits at the Ecological Society of America meeting in Montreal, Canada in August 2022.
